Ball State Lecture on Libertarian Party of Indiana

Today I spoke to Dr. Raymond Scheele's class on American Political Campaigns at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. My topic was on the Libertarian Party of Indiana and what it stands for, as well as the campaign strategies of the Libertarian Party of Indiana.

My emphasis was that the LPIN's political strategy is to focus on local races where our candidates can prove they are worthy of running government. This takes candidates who are known and respected in their community, and/or who make the effort to connect personally with their voters, through door to door solicitation, etc. It also takes a focus on more local races, since larger races involve districts too large for a candidate to make the personal touch.

The students were courteous and didn't fall asleep on me too much. This amazed me as it was a beautiful day outside, and I'm not too sure that when I was an undergraduate, I'd have been so keen on attending class that day, let alone interested in hearing a politico speak.

Many thanks to Dr. Scheele on inviting me to speak, and on the nice things he had to say about the Libertarian Party of Indiana's progress as a political party.
