Brownsburg Legislator Whetstone Is Typical Republican Tax and Spender

Libertarian Party of Indiana Executive Director Dan Drexler reports as follows:

"Brownsburg Republican Matt Whetstone has gone too far. . . (for what) he has proposed in HB 1400, his government consolidation bill the governor backs.

Essentially the bill empowers local governments to create the local option income tax, and increase food & beverage, sales and inn keepers taxes. But, the kick now is that it also permits a PROPERTY TAX levy to fund juvenile court. Only 80% of the revenues go to property tax replacement and even that goes to special classes."
