Mike Kole, Libertarian candidate for Indiana Secretary of State, will visit Wayne County on Sunday, September 10th. Kole will join local Libertarian candidates in Cambridge City for the Canal Days festivities, where he will participate in the 2:00 p.m. parade, and be available to field questions immediately before and after the parade.

The Secretary of State is Indiana's ballot access race, in which candidates must receive 2% of the vote in order for their party to automatically be placed on the ballot. In 2002, the Libertarian candidate for the post, Rebecca Sink-Burris, received nearly 9% of the vote in Wayne County, one of the highest percentages in the state. A 10% total statewide would advance the LP to major party status, and give the Libertarians equal footing with the Republican and Democrat parties.

"We look forward to Mike's visits" said Wayne County LP Chair Rex Bell. "Mike has been working on this campaign for well over a year. He's put a lot of energy on this important race, and he understands the importance of grass roots support. He has already made several visits to Wayne and surrounding counties, and he's promised to make more as the campaign continues."

The Libertarian Party has been organized in Wayne County since 2002, and has had ballot access in Indiana since 1994."
