"Beanefit for Kole" on October 19th

Here's the press release:

"Bean Plant Serving Soup to Mike Kole Supporters
The Beanefit aims to keep Libertarians on Indiana ballot
Indianapolis, Indiana - October 10, 2006 .

When you do the right thing, people remember.

That’s why Jim Hurst is sponsoring The Mike Kole Beanefit on Oct. 19 for Mike Kole, Libertarian candidate for Indiana secretary of state.

Kole stood up for Hurst when state and Indianapolis officials tried to take away the land of the N.K. Hurst Co. bean-processing plant, a business that had been in the Hurst family for three generations, to build a VIP parking lot for the Colts. Since then, Hurst and the Colts have come to a mutually beneficial agreement.

The Mike Kole Beanefit will be 7-9 p.m. Oct. 19 in the Marrott, 2625 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis. The menu includes 15-bean soup, jalapeƱo cornbread and raspberry fudge brownies. Cost is $15 per person. To RSVP, call the Libertarian Party of Indiana at 317-920- 1994 or email to lpinhq@lpin.org.

The secretary of state race is crucial to keep Libertarians on the ballot in Indiana. Libertarians will gain major-party status with 10 percent of the total secretary of state vote. Minimally, Libertarians need 2 percent to retain ballot access, a status the party has enjoyed since 1994.
