Kudos to Michael Rodman and David Orentlichter to Face Their Bosses

Kudos go out from me to Michael Rodman and David Orentlicher for being with their bosses when things aren't going well.

The property tax system in Indiana is broken. Finally, the citizens of Indianapolis have had enough, and are engaging in political protest.

Michael Rodman is the Democratic Treasurer of Marion County. David Orentlicher is a Democratic Indiana House member who represents a sizable piece of the Northside.

They were at the Tax Rally yesterday on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis. They took the heat from the voters (their bosses), even though it was a very uncomfortable situation. They didn't attack the voters, even when Orentlicher was shouted down when he tried to speak. His response to the media after he was shouted down - "I know people are frustrated, and understandably so," he said. "People shouldn't have to lose their homes over property taxes."

Where were the other elected officials with the responsibility for fixing this mess? They weren't there.
