Kelver Quoted in the Indianapolis Star

Greg Kelver, LaPorte County small business owner and 2nd District Representative on the Central Committee of the Libertarian Party of Indiana, is quoted in today's Indianapolis Star article titled "Business incentives in state top $400 million - $73 million forgiven or diverted in Marion County".

Here it is:

"It's important that government is not involved in picking and choosing economic winners and losers," said Greg Kelver, 2nd District representative to the Central Committee of the Libertarian Party of Indiana. "In a lot of cases, the tax abatements that are awarded will shift that burden onto small businesses and homeowners."

Though unfair, tax abatements and TIFs are effective means of attracting business. Why not make the entire state a "TIF" by ending property tax.
