Coffee, chocolates, and really good economic policy
Sean Shepard talks with Indianapolis’ own HoosierAccess.com
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The local blog Hoosier Access (www.HoosierAccess.com) interviewed Sean Shepard over the weekend at the Southbend Chocolate Factory, as part of their monthly podcast. Shepard, one of the 7th District Congressional candidates for the special election (March 11) railed against out of control Federal spending that is now being financed by government borrowing from foreign nations like China.
Acknowledging massive overseas spending, relative to Al Qaeda’s goal of destroying our economy, “Our enemies don’t have to destroy us militarily. They don’t have to blow us up. They can defeat us economically.” Shepard suggested that we need a smarter, more humble approach to our foreign policy.
He called for a near-term removal of our forces from Iraq, more economical free-market health care solutions, making health care 100% tax free under the current system, overhaul of the tax code and an immediate securing of our borders.
Shepard then went on to question why Republicans still run on a platform of fiscal conservatism since they haven’t lived up to the hype and suggested that he represented true "change".
