Lots of News from Shepard for Congress 2008

Here's the latest release from Libertarian candidate Shepard for Congress:

"UPDATE FROM SHEPARD FOR CONGRESS 2008
http://www.shepard2008.com/

Greetings Friends, Family and Supporters!

This message is going out to a great many more people than the last one! So far our campaign is going better than we could have hoped going into this. We have gotten lots of support from not only Libertarians but many Republicans and Democrats as well. Several precinct committeemen from other parties have contacted us to offer support.

COMMENTS AFTER THE LAST DEBATE

"Shepard can eloquently and intelligently address any issue... he is well-studied on all the issues" - Gary Welsh of Advance Indiana.

"...he's got an amazing command of issues which I did not expect." - posted at the Democrat run Taking Down Words BLOG.

"acknowledges that our elected leaders in DC aren’t taking us in the right direction. He alluded to the fact that we shouldn’t send the same Republicans and the same Democrats to Washington when they are part of the problem." - Hoosier Access

ANOTHER ON-LINE POLL!

We are continuing to do much better than expected in on-line polls and here is another one that has two days left to go. Please take a quick moment to go and cast a vote for me: http://advanceindiana.blogspot.com/

WTHR (Channel 13) HAS CHANGE OF HEART

After the Indiana Equality debate, numerous calls and e-mails from supporters and possibly polling information that shows us doing much better than expected WTHR has now extended an invitation for me to participate in the February 24 (Sunday) forum starting at 9:00 AM. This is great news.

FOOD, FUN AND FUND-RAISER!

It takes money to get our message of smaller government, lower taxes, humble foreign policy, fiscal stability, school choice and lower cost healthcare. With no straight party voting in this election we have an excellent opportunity to really compete but since we are not beholden to special interests and big money lobbyists, we depend on individual supporters who agree with our message. Radio and TV advertising, bumper stickers, yard signs, flyers, mailings, polls and phone banks all cost money unfortunately.

We're currently planning to hold a dinner/fund raiser on Thursday, February 28th near downtown Indianapolis. We're planning a special guest, will be inviting the media and hope you'll be able to join us. Stay tuned for details!!

And in the event you just can't wait to help us out, please feel free to contribute on-line at http://shepard2008.com/contribute/

Getting the message out is very important! My Republican opponent who acts like he doesn't even want to be in this race is neither fiscally nor socially conservative and has already picked up one of my policy points related to getting government out of the marriage business and adopted it as his own. My Democrat opponent wouldn't even be in this race if not for having the right last name.

DON'T WANT CAMPAIGN UPDATES OR GOT IT TWICE?

We've been limiting these to only every couple or few days, but if you really prefer not get an update on how the campaign is going and what events are scheduled, absolutely just reply back and ask to be dropped from the list. If you got this message twice, let us know also it just means your on two different lists and we need to get you off of one of them!

As always, thank you to everyone for their support and good wishes! March 11th is going to be a landmark day in Indiana!
