Is Republican Indianapolis Mayor Ballard a Socialist Just Like Former Fort Wayne Socialist Republican Mayor Paul Helmke?

Socialist Republican Paul Helmke is the former mayor of Fort Wayne and currently the head of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. It is my opinion that the Brady organization is one of the most freedom hating groups around - they preferred an unarmed population who will suffer under the whims of criminals and criminal governments. And in a common thread, a Socialist Republican runs the organization. Here's a recent note from Chris Spangle, Executive Director of the Libertarian Party of Indiana:

"Check out the video here:

Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard tells WISH TV 8 that he wants to remodel Indianapolis Gun Laws after the restrictive New York City Gun Laws. He came to this conclusion after Plaxico Burress shot himself in the leg, and is now facing 3 years in prison for having a gun.

Call the Mayor's Office to help keep Marion County citizen's safe. Remind the Republican Mayor that people should be prosecuted for their transgressions, not what they own.

Take Action by calling: (317) 327-3601.

You can also email the Mayor's office here: http://www.indy.gov/eGov/Mayor/contact.htm

PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD TO MAKE A BIGGER IMPACT! YOU'RE SAFETY DEPENDS ON IT!

Does this mean that we've identified another possible Socialist Republican Mayor? I hope not, for Mayor Ballard has clearly promoted property rights concerning real estate. I hope he made a poorly thought out comment, and corrects himself soon.

However, the more I see Republican office holders, the more I see that many of them are Socialists, and they are outnumbering and outmaneuvering a dieing breed, small government Republicans who respect the rule of law.
