Wayne County Libertarian Party Garage Sale This Saturday

Here's the latest on it from Wayne County Libertarian Party Chairman Rex Bell:

"Greetings Wayne County Libertarians and Friends;

Thanks to those that helped with the Centerville Parade on Saturday. It was a hot day, but we made it through. I think a couple of Republicans went down, though. And the Democrats were sweating profusely. Maybe it was the heat, or maybe it was their conscience.

Anyway, we can put the parades and festivals aside for a week as we make ready for the premiere garage sale in the area. The 5th Annual Libertarian Party of Wayne County Labor Day Garage Sale will be held on September 2nd & 3rd at 17059 State Road 38, Hagerstown. The sale will be open Saturday from 8:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M., and on Sunday from noon until we run out of neat stuff.

This years sale will include, along with neat stuff, Steph's Café', Ma Bell's World Famous Apple Butter, our new and improved electronics department, our Libertarian booth attended by various local candidates, and a special visit by Mike Kole, the Libertarian candidate for Indiana Secretary of State, on Saturday from 12:00 til 2:00.

Here's the schedule:

Thursday, August 31st….. Tent set-up at 6:00 P.M. we need a few strong backs to help put up the tent and tables. We should be able to accomplish this task in about an hour.

Friday, September 1st……. Susan will start carrying merchandise to the tables at 8:00 A.M. Feel free to stop by any time, for an hour or for all day. This is a big job, and it can get hectic as early shoppers stop in. We appreciate as much help as we can get on this.

Saturday, September 2nd….. The sale starts officially at 8:00, but some people start coming in at daybreak. Help is needed in sales, at the café', and at the booth. Once again, if you can stay for an hour or two, or all day, any help is greatly appreciated. Besides, it's a lot of fun, and you get to meet a lot of interesting people.

Sunday, September 3rd……The sale starts at noon, and this is usually a little slower day, often marked by close-out specials and even deeper discounts (the famous Bag-For-A-Buck blue light special).

Monday, September 4th…..Tear down at noon. Again, we need a few strong backs for the tent and tables.


If you have articles that you would like to donate, please bring it on Thursday or Friday. If you need something picked up, call me at 489-5363, or 969-0086.

Again this year, 10% of the proceeds will go to the state party to support the work they do, and 10% will go to the Mike Kole campaign, in support of our all important ballot access race. Please remember that if you don't have any neat stuff to donate, we also have a crappy stuff department this year, and we are also in a position to accept cash donations!
