Is Melina Kennedy a Republican?

She certainly sounds like one - "If elected, Kennedy said, she would pursue habitual offender sentences more aggressively and hire a specialist to carry out that mandate." (From today's Indianapolis Star).

This is further proof that there is no longer any difference in substance between the Democratic and Republican parties. Now the Democrats are acting tough on crime by advocating the institution of policy before adding sufficient courts, jail space, law enforcement officers and rational tax policy to pay for it all.

And the Democrats have FINALLY learned to talk tax cuts prior to elections. The wanted to cut sales tax on gasoline and now some are clammoring onto the property tax-cut bandwagon.
