Congressional Policy - Preserve the Jobs of Elites and Those Who Got There First - Cut Another Rung off the Bottom of Ladders to Success

Congress passed another immoral and unethical minimum wage increase. Its policy is clearly to preserve the jobs of elites and those who got there first. Its policy is clearly to make it harder for those at the "bottom of the ladder" to get a break and a chance for success.

I'm a small business owner. You don't hire entry level candidates for unskilled work and job training if the cost is too high. Sometimes, if you have a small pool of money available, you might hire someone to do jobs not essential, but helpful. But the more those helpful jobs cost, the less likely a small business owner has a sufficiently large enough cash flow to justify the hire. And the fewer people hired, the fewer people with the chance to improve their lives.

Congress is comprised of socialists, be they elected as Republicans or Democrats. Shame on them. They should all read Adam Smith's moral code on helping one's fellow man have a better life - the book Wealth of Nations or Milton Friedman's epic Freedom to Choose, which also is a moral code on helping one's fellow man have a better life. However, I suspect Congress likes Marxist ideas of control and power better, since they are elites who know better. Their motto must be "to heck with a better life - do as I say because I know better than you what's good for you".

Congress is about preserving elites and power. It's unethical.
