IMPD Aborts Effort to Confiscate Investigative Talk Show Host's Computer

IMPD aborted an effort yesterday to seize the home computer of Abdul Hakim-Shabazz, host of Abdul in the Morning on WXNT 1430 AM in Indianapolis. Apparently, IMPD (Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department) top brass want to know who is writing Indy Undercover, a local blog that is very critical of the current state of affairs within IMPD and the City of Indianapolis. I don't know the details, but word about the search warrant (or efforts to obtain one) got out before any seizure, and for now has been put on hold.

I personally know Abdul, and he is very much an ally of good law enforcement. He is an ally of good law enforcement officers. However, Abdul is an investigative journalist and is not afraid to learn the truth, and expose bad policies and poor behavior in law enforcement.

This looks like an attempt to either find and punish the publishers of Indy Undercover, or worse. Learn more about this, including other possible inappropriate reasons why IMPD may want Abdul's home computer, by reading his blog post at Indiana Barrister titled "NOW HERE’S SOMETHING THAT DOESN’T HAPPEN EVERYDAY".

I listened a few times last week but didn't hear if Abdul mentioned this on the air.

Has Abdul mentioned this on the air? I can't always listen at work after the 8:00 hour.
