"SHEPARD 2008 CAMPAIGN UPDATE - VOTE ON MARCH 11

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FRIDAY NIGHT FUNDRAISER THIS WEEK!

We also have a special guest in that our good friend Andrew Horning is planning to attend. Andy is very popular across the state and has done wonderful things for Libertarian oriented politics and education. He also was one of the early leaders in organizing the property tax rallies over the summer.

EVENT DETAILS: Friday, February 29 6:30-8:30pm; Santorini’s Greek Kitchen (one of Indianapolis Monthly’s “top 25” restaurants since 2002), located in the Historic Fountain Square District,1417 Prospect Street, Indianapolis, IN. Cost per person: $50, with proceeds benefiting the Shepard for Congress campaign. Being provided is a four-course meal featuring “Chicken Souvlaki”.

Seating is limited to 50 persons, so RSVP to Tim Maguire at: Maguire_tj@hotmail.com ASAP.

STAR ARTICLE FROM TODAY

The Indianapolis Star's article today, despite losing the nuance and really getting my position on abortion wrong (I don't "support" abortion at any level - see my issues page at the web site) it was otherwise fair and we are told it was the largest, longest most prominently placed piece on a Libertarian candidate they've ever done. I appreciate Bobby (Robert) King from the Star spending the time with me.

I also met with Star's Editorial Board today and I believe that went well. Well enough to overcome "major party" bias and that only two of three were there (one was ill today), I don't know. But, I was well received and enjoyed the time with them quite a bit.

If anyone has ANY question about where I stand on the various issues, just visit here: http://shepard2008.com/issues/ ... in response to the Star article I made sure a couple of social issues were posted and included a link to "Libertarians for Life" at http://www.l4l.org/

ON-LINE POLL RESULTS

We achieved double-digit results at another on-line poll and are still polling well at HoosiersforFairTaxation (http://hoosiersforfairtaxation.blogspot.com). We believe that in the real world we are polling much better in this race than any Libertarian ever has. This represents the frustration that others feel about the current leadership in Congress, concerns many have about our opponents, awareness of 'no straight party' voting on the 11th and the feeling many people have that things are not well with our country and we need to change course.

FOX 59 SEGMENT FROM TUESDAY MORNING

My video segment from Fox 59 the other morning is available at: http://fox59.trb.com/

MARCH 6th DEBATE AT IUPUI

The debate at IUPUI will be on Thursday, March 6th at 7:30 PM. We will have 50 tickets to give to supporters. The event will be held in the 350 seat University Place Auditorium. WISH's Jim Shella and WTLC's Amos Brown will be moderating the discussion. Make sure you've sent a request in for your ticket reservations if you haven't already.

DON'T WANT CAMPAIGN UPDATES OR GOT IT TWICE?

We've been limiting these to only every couple or few days, but if you really prefer not get an update on how the campaign is going and what events are scheduled, absolutely just reply back and ask to be dropped from the list. If you got this message twice, let us know also it just means your on two different lists and we need to get you off of one of them!

As always, thank you to everyone for their support and good wishes! March 11th is going to be a landmark day in Indiana!
