The Art of Political Campaigning Seminar - Great Sessions, Great Receptions, Great Food, Great Adult Beverages

A long day. But a great day.

I'm finished with day one of the Campaign & Elections Politics Magazine seminar The Art of Political Campaigning.

This afternoon's sessions included a talk by Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform and a session titled "Speaking to Win" by John Davies of Davies (all Libertarians need to spend two hours with John Davies learning why 93% of effective speaking is about everything but the spoken words).

The reception tonight honored 20 political consultant Rising Stars under the age of 35. Immediate past Libertarian Party Executive Director Shane Cory was one of the honorees. Other notable honorees were Aaron Houston, Director of Government Relations with the Marijuana Policy Project and Justine Lam, who worked on Ron Paul's most recent presidential campaign.

Notable vendors and consultants I met tonight include:

Will Rosser (www.willrosser.com), who does voiceovers and narrations. You've probably heard him doing the voiceovers on the Marine commericials, as well as doing voiceovers for the National Geographic and Discovery channels.

Paul Brady (www.politicalcommercials.com) who does Hollywood standard filming for political commercials. He has worked on major Hollywood productions and also did one of the Huckabee commercials.

Ronald Nielson and Jon Shepard of NSON Opinion Research (www.NSONinfo.com). They do polling.

Maurice Bonamigo of Maurice Bonamigo & Associates who are political campaign consultants (www.mauricebonamigo.com). They are working more and more with smaller campaigns and working to make it affordable for smaller campaigns to get professional help.

Ed Trax of thetraxgroup, general political consultants.
