Schansberg Town Halls in Jasper and Tell City

"September 17, 2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Schansberg town halls in Jasper and Tell City on Wednesday, September 24th

Dr. Eric Schansberg, the Libertarian candidate for the U.S. Congress in Indiana's 9th District, will hold town-hall meetings in Jasper and Tell City on Wednesday, September 24th. The Jasper meeting will be on the Vincennes University campus in the Lecture Hall of the New Classroom Building—from 5:30-6:30 PM (local time). The Tell City meeting will be in the Perry County library—from 7:00-8:00 (local time).

Schansberg commented: "With the other candidates avoiding public debates, town halls like this become even more important—for people to hear at least one candidate speak to the important issues of our time."

At the town hall meetings, Schansberg will deliver prepared remarks for 15-20 minutes—and then field questions from those in the audience.

In his prepared remarks, Dr. Schansberg will address:
• gas prices and energy policy—policies that will work (domestic drilling and a stronger dollar) and policies that will not work (regulations on speculators, subsidies to energy companies, etc.)
• the dramatic but overlooked impact of fiscal conservatism
• our on-going efforts in Iraq
• the oppressive burden of payroll/FICA taxes on income and the need for Social Security reform

All interested parties are encouraged to attend. Audio and video recording are permitted.
